How does online learning work? Learning management systems (LMS) provide an accessible exchange of information between instructors and students. Students can view learning material at their leisure or even attend scheduled conferences or lectures. HRPMO University's initial structure will proceed through the following cadence - video, reading, exercise, group discussion, quiz - then the sequence will repeat in the next session. We would love to hear feedback on the quality of this approach. Our goal is to include opportunities for personal interactions as students learn from each other, share stories, work on specific problems together, and gain confidence through shared application.
HRPMO-U also intends to provide both a bundled and an unbundled approach to learning by hopefully serving two purposes. We are not an accredited school (yet;)!); therefore, HRPMO-U will provide certificates of achievement for accomplishing specific courses of study similar to a traditional school. We are doing this to allow students to apply for continuing education credits that benefit professional credentials such as PMP, SHRM, HRCI, HRPA, HRPM, BA, etc. But because of our field experience in transformation projects, we also recognize that your skills may be great in one area and poor in another and you want to upskill where your effort provides the greatest return on your investment. So, our goal is to provide a method to unbundle tracks and purchase an individual module. For example, you may need project management and business case development, but not the full course of either. We want you to be able to mix and match to gain the greatest benefit “just in time”, to be able to upgrade your skill set for a specific need.
To ensure our certificates of achievement are validated, it will be necessary to test the knowledge of students. Students will submit course assignments through the LMS, participate in discussions, complete intermittent quizzes and participate in mock projects to demonstrate their understanding of the material. Instructors will provide feedback to the student through evaluations of assignments, comments and/or emails through HRPMO University’s LMS.
Finally, each course will have intermittent quizzes to test the students' knowledge and reinforce learning. The goal is to end each course with a Mock Case Study so the students receive the opportunity to experience application of their skills based on a real world scenario.
